Have you had a friend
you'd never thought will forsake you,
never leave by you,
forever trusting you.
And then, together,
run that race and finish the end.
During that race,
when one of you falls,
the other will help the latter up.
But just one fine day,
the other says,
go away, you don't care,
I think being by myself
is much more fair.
Don't be alarmed,
it's just some words,
just some words,
that can hurt.
It's just a run,
it's just a race,
pick her up,
and say in her face,
I'll never leave,
never forsake,
be by your side,
no matter what takes.
We'll finish this race,
we'll see that end,
don't shoo me away,
it's just a race.
Have your friend ever,
fell to the ground,
didn't pick up,
and crawled around.
Don't you ever,
feel like shouting,
Wake up you fool, the sun is rising.
Did you ever,
tried to get that friend
to see their own doings by hand,
to see their reflection,
they know oh so well.
Have that friend ever,
shout in your face,
they don't need you now,
they don't need you ever,
they just won't trust you,
from forever.
Don't be alarmed,
it's just some words,
just some words,
that can hurt.
It's just a run,
it's just a race,
pick her up,
and say in her face,
I'll never leave,
never forsake,
be by your side,
no matter what takes.
We'll finish this race,
we'll see that end,
don't shoo me away,
it's just a race.
Take her hand,
don't let her push it away,
hug her if you must,
just say in her face,
I'll love you now,
I'll love you when,
because Jesus loved me,
this won't be the end.
We'll finish this race,
with each other by side,
I don't care,
so long we have tried.
